Activities at this San Diego beach include volleyball, kite flying, swimming, fishing, surfing, sailing, body or boogie boarding, sun bathing, fire pits for bonfires, and exploring tide pools. There are life guards on duty, making this a great beach for families. There's a dog beach south end that's very popular. iIt's not too difficult to find a parking place in the neighborhood south of the Hotel Del Coronado.
Bicycle and surreys can be rented for a leisurely ride along the coast. There are lots of interesting shops nearby along Orange Avenue if you feel like shopping. There is a golf course nearby. If you're in this area on a Sunday, don't miss the elegant and delicious brunch at the Hotel del Coronado.
Directions from San Diego: Go south on Interstate 5. Merge onto CA 75 South toward Coronado. Turn left onto Orange Avenue, then right onto 10th, and left on G Street.
