Are you searching for free stuff San Diego? This is the place to discover free things to do in San Diego. There are lots of things to do in this area that cost absolutely nothing. Here are my top ten choices.

1. Take a hike. There are a number of great hikes that let you get some exercise while you explore the natural beauty of the San Diego area.

2. Head to the beach. There are lots of beaches in San Diego. Relax on the beach, surf, go boogie boarding, join in a beach volleyball game, build a bonfire, create a sandcastle, watch the sun slide into the ocean as the sun sets, or stroll along the surf. All beaches are free.

3. Take a short drive to the top of Mount Soledad in La Jolla. You'll be rewarded with one of the best views in San Diego. It's a panoramic 360 degree view of the coastline, the downtown skyline, and surrounding areas. This is a great place to watch the sunset or indulge in a picnic on the grassy area atop Mt. Soledad. You might also be interested in the war memorial located here.

4. Explore Balboa Park. Make the Visitors Center your first stop. Then hop on one of the free buses that will drive you throughout the park. You might want to tour the entire park for one loop before disembarking to explore this amazing urban park. Most gardens and Botanical Building are free. On Sundays you can enjoy free outdoor pipe organ concerts at 2 PM. There's always interesting things going on in this beautiful park and you'll find this park a good source for free stuff San Diego. On Tuesdays some of the museums offer free admission: Free Museum Schedule.

5. Grab a fishing pole and some bait and head for a municipal pier.
No license is required. Try your luck at any of these piers: Crystal Pier (Pacific Beach), Ferry Landing Pier (Coronado), Imperial Beach Pier, Ocean Beach Pier, or Oceanside Pier.

6. Have a picnic at Presidio Park. Many people have not yet discovered this gorgeous park located near Old Town. Pack a lunch and enjoy a meal surrounded by the beauty of this park. Visit my favorite area of this Presidio Park by parking on Taylor Street just west of Hotel Circle. You'll be able to catch a glimpse of the park and a small parking lot. Park there and enter the most secluded section of the park.

9. Take advantage of the free San Diego concerts being held at various location around the city. Bring a picnic and blanket and be ready to enjoy live music on a warm summer day. Lots of outdoor fun at a price you cannot beat!

10. Go Wine Tasting. You'll find an increasing number of San Diego wineries that have tasting rooms where you can sample their wines. Most are free. One of my favorites is Orfila Vineyards in Escondido. Visit Cheers2Wine to print a free wine tasting coupon that allows you to visit this winery for a complimentary tasting that also includes a free logo glass. A great example of free stuff San Diego!
