Hang Gliding and Paragliding
Both hang gliding and paragliding let you glide through the air without a motor. Both are thrilling. If you want to give either a try, consider a tandem ride. This lets you enjoy the excitement of soaring high above the ground along with an experienced pilot.
The paraglider is a newer technology that is more maneuverable, but travels more slowly. The paraglider can be used in lighter wind conditions. During the ride you will be in a sitting position in the paraglider instead of the typical lying down position.
A great place to go for either is Torrey Pines Gliderport in La Jolla. Your flight will take you over the beautiful Torrey Pines coastal area. Most flights occur during the early afternoons. They are open 7 days a week. It is recommended that you call ahead as flights depend on wind conditions.
