This world famous zoo is 100 acres in size and houses over 4,000 animals. You'll see more than 800 species from around the world. Pay a little extra to enjoy the 40 minute guided bus tour. Afterwards stroll through the large aviaries, through the bio-climatic zoos, and along the paths throughout the zoo. It is viewed in several ways; first and foremost, by walking along pathways, into aviaries and through bio-climatic zones. Plan to spend at least 3 to 4 hours exploring this San Diego tourist attraction.

All shows, exhibits, aquariums and rides (with the exception of Skyride and Skytower) are included with park admission. You'll love the exciting rides, entertaining shows, and interesting exhibits. Wear comfortable clothing and a pair of walking shoes. You will have lots of opportunities for walking. Hike the 2-mile back country trail past lions, tigers, elephants, and gardens. Board a train for your journey into Africa. It's a 25 minute tour into the large fields where you will see African animals. You'll enjoy the other exhibits including an elephant overlook, aviary, greenhouse with insects, plants, and birds, and more.


Balboa Park

You don't want to miss this San Diego tourist attraction. Many of the structures in Balboa Park were built for the First World's Fair, The 1915-16 Panama-California Exposition. There are 15 museums, lush gardens, an outdoor organ pavilion, the Old Globe Theater, the San Diego Zoo, a planetarium, restaurants, and numerous other recreational activities. It's a beautiful place to spend a day exploring.

There's even an unsanctioned nude beach in San Diego. Head to a beach for sunbathing, beach volley ball, surfing, to catch a spectacular sunset, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, or a stroll along the coast.
